“We must believe in luck. For how else do we explain the success of those we dislike?”
–Jean Cocteau
Some successful people seem pretty ordinary.
They dress like you and me.
Nor are they always interesting. Some are good at conversation, and some are not.
And you can’t help but ask: what have they got that I haven’t got? Is it really just luck? Why do they have good jobs and money in the bank?
In other words, why are they wealthy?
That is the mystery of the financially successful. And yes, the majority are smart, talented, charming, and have powerhouse personalities. However, many aren’t as smart as you or as good at conversation. Still, there they are, hurtling toward riches.
And no, it is not your imagination.
There is something, something at work, that is neither obvious nor visible. Something propels these people like a powerful unseen force toward financial success in spite of their faults. What is the secret formula?
In this first thirty or so posts, I will try to answer what the factors are that drive people toward success and even happiness. In other words, the idea is to point out and use the same strategies and behaviors the successful do. It turns out that these behaviors help give a leg up to meet the personal goals that help generate financial independence. But they are not always obvious. Nor do some of these behaviors make a difference at first. It may be that their value shows up over a long period of time.
These successful patterns of behavior and habits we will discuss are not just my opinions. They are the results of a lot of work from experts who have researched them. I will reference them when I can, and you can see and evaluate them for yourself.
Knowledge helps even the playing field and helps you gain advantages over a lifetime. Knowledge, persistence, and strategy matter.
